Tay Chuan Beng graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering (1st Class Hons), Master of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National University of Singapore.

Tay Chuan Beng has been a full-time lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic since 2014. He is currently serving in the School of Engineering, managing the Specialist Diploma in Electrical Design and Operation programme of the Polytechnic. In terms of continuing education for adult learners, he specializes in Electrical Distribution System Design.
