This short program is designed for leaders and organizations interested in learning more about how the Replication team at Mobile Loaves & Fishes can support you in understanding and implementing the Community First! model. This cross-contextual, dignity-affirming model has proven to be effective at mitigating homelessness in Central Texas and across the US.

Through this introduction, you’ll see that the Community First! model's primary focus is not creating housing at scale, but to cultivate a sense of belonging, care, and community amongst our friends on the streets and the broader community as a whole. You'll better understand that the model's successful implementation stems not primarily from physical elements like micro homes or community gardens. Instead, it comes from fidelity to its core components, as embodied at the Community First! Village in Austin, TX.
